Yes, a Galgo can be a watchdog. While they are primarily known for their skills as hunting and racing dogs, they are also known to be loyal and protective of their families. With proper training and socialization, a Galgo can be an effective watchdog, alerting their owners to any potential threats or intruders. However, it's important to note that their natural instinct may still lean towards chasing small animals, so training and supervision are key in ensuring they make good watchdogs. **

Yes, Spanish Greyhounds, or Galgo Español, are often overbred in Spain. They are commonly used for hunting and racing, and as a result, many are bred without proper consideration for their health and well-being. This has led to an overpopulation of Galgos in Spain, and many end up abandoned or mistreated. Efforts are being made by animal welfare organizations to address this issue and promote responsible breeding and adoption of Galgos. **

Backo is a German Shepherd, and Galgo is a Greyhound. German Shepherds are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and versatility, making them popular as working dogs in various fields such as police, military, and search and rescue. Both breeds are known for their athleticism and make great companions for active individuals. **

The Galgo Español Podenco is a breed known for its short, smooth coat, which typically sheds minimally. While all dogs shed to some extent, the Galgo Español Podenco's shedding is generally considered to be low to moderate. Regular grooming and brushing can help minimize shedding and keep their coat in good condition. Overall, this breed is a good choice for those who prefer a dog with minimal shedding. **

The collar for a Galgo should be approximately 12-14 inches in circumference. It is important to measure your Galgo's neck before purchasing a collar to ensure a proper fit. The collar should be snug enough that it doesn't slip off, but not too tight that it restricts their movement or causes discomfort. Adjustable collars are a good option to ensure a proper fit as your Galgo grows. **
